Cavendish House – Harrogate

Project Brief

Hexa Projects delivered the full conversion of Cavendish House, transforming an existing building into a high-quality residential apartment scheme on behalf of North Yorkshire Council, working alongside Bowman Riley as project architect.

The project involved a complete internal reconfiguration to create a series of well-planned apartments, alongside the installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and bespoke joinery throughout.

While not a listed building, the existing structure presented challenges typical of older properties, including working around original features, irregular layouts and varying structural conditions. These were carefully managed to ensure efficient space planning and a consistent, high-quality finish across all units.

A key element of the scheme was the full upgrade and integration of mechanical and electrical services. New systems were coordinated throughout to meet modern standards, including heating, ventilation, fire compliance and acoustic performance — all delivered within the constraints of the existing building fabric.

Working collaboratively with the design team and wider supply chain, Hexa Projects delivered a practical, buildable solution that balanced programme, cost and quality.

The result is a clean, contemporary apartment scheme that maximises the potential of the existing building while delivering modern, functional living spaces.
