Designed around day-to-day needs

We believe that with thoughtful design and high-quality execution, workplaces and residences can significantly enhance health, comfort and wellbeing for occupants. At Hexa, that’s always our starting point – considering the end user and creating a space tailored to their needs. Our fit-out services fall into two main categories

  • Cat A fit-outs provide a clean, functional base. Typical works cover floors and wall finishes, suspended ceilings, fire detection and life safety, partitioned areas such as meeting rooms, fitted tea points or basic kitchens, core M&E systems, IT backbone and sanitary facilities.

  • Cat B fit-outs add character and detail. We introduce furniture and fittings, specialist lighting and AV, upgraded kitchen facilities, and client-led decor to create a space that feels like your own, and is ready to move in to on project handover.

Health and safety, building regulations and quality standards are the foundation of our approach. The materials and construction methods we use are carefully selected for durability, ease of maintenance and sustainability without compromising on style or comfort. We work on both new builds and existing premises, and can operate in occupied environments with minimal disruption.

Space planning and partitioning

We design efficient layouts and intuitive circulation routes, using glazed or solid partitions to create distinct, multipurpose spaces: from meeting rooms, to workstations, quiet zones and collaboration areas.

Safety, security and fire systems

We install fire detection and suppression, alarms, CCTV and emergency lighting systems, integrated with building management systems and fully compliant with current regulations and standards.

Floors, walls and ceilings

We match material choices to the purpose of each space, specifying high-performance flooring for busy areas, acoustic panelling for noise control and suspended ceiling systems for more effective climate control.

FAQ’s

  • Our commercial refurbishment projects range from light-touch projects focused on refreshing decorative aspects to more in-depth programmes of work which involve significant structural alterations, full MEP system replacement, building envelope repairs and other major changes. Whatever you’re looking for in terms of a refurbishment project, our team will be happy to scope it out.

  • As you would expect, there’s a lot of variance, due to the unique scope and objectives of each project. But as a guide, at the lower end we can complete smaller single-space projects requiring surface-level alterations, furnishing and finishes within 4 to 8 weeks, whereas multi-room projects may be closer to two or three months, and the largest refurbishments – for example, a large building with substantial work involved – can run up to 12 months.

  • Yes, we’re happy to work on active sites, and we have strategies in place to do so safely and with minimal disruption. We sequence activities, using out‑of‑hours working for the most disruptive activities. For work carried out while people are using the space, we can cordon off working zones, set up safe access routes and use noise, dust and vibration controls to allow business to continue in one area of the site while we work on another.

  • Yes, in many cases you will. Planning permission may be required for external alterations or changes of use, and building control approval is needed for material alterations to structure, fire safety or services. We can help with the process, providing technical information in the approved formats and liaising with the relevant agencies to streamline applications and enable us to start work as soon as possible.

  • We understand that clients may be concerned about mounting costs over the project lifespan. To avoid these concerns, we provide a clear scope at the outset, with all costs itemised and risk assessments carried out to identify any areas where additional costs could occur – so you can make a fully informed decision before any work takes place. During the project, we keep all stakeholders up to date through regular reporting and change management sessions.
